The Process

Placing porcelain veneers generally requires two office visits to complete the process, with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure. The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. This will allow the veneers to look natural and not “too bulky”. Next, an impression of the teeth is taken and a color will be chosen by you and Dr. Block.

During your second visit the teeth will be cleaned with special materials which prepare the tooth and veneer to achieve a durable bond. Next, special bonding cement is placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden

the bonding agent. After the cement has cured sufficiently, your new porcelain veneers are ready to go and you will receive care instructions for your porcelain veneers explaining that proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will enhance the longevity of your new smile.
